Terms of Service
Last updated: [DATE — fill in when published]
The short version: Pokermates is a free way to play poker with friends over voice and video. There's no real money involved — chips have no cash value, can't be bought, and can't be cashed out. We charge for a membership that improves your voice/video quality and unlocks cosmetics, never for gameplay advantage. Be an adult, be decent to other players, and don't try to break the game.

1. What Pokermates is

Pokermates is a social application that lets you play Texas Hold'em poker with people you invite, using voice and video chat. The game is provided free of charge. Pokermates does not involve real-money gambling. In-game chips have no monetary value, cannot be purchased with real money, cannot be exchanged for real money or prizes, and reset for every new table. Nothing in this service constitutes a gambling or betting product.

2. Who can use Pokermates

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Pokermates. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use the service, and we may remove any account we believe belongs to a minor.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for anything that happens through it. Sign-in happens via a one-time email link or a Google account — we don't store passwords. Don't share access to your account with anyone else, and let us know if you think someone else has accessed it.

4. Tables and invites

Any table you create can only be joined by people who have your invite link. We don't operate public matchmaking, and we don't match you with strangers. As the host of a table, you're responsible for who you invite and can end a table at any time.

5. Membership

Pokermates offers an optional paid membership ("Plus") that improves voice/video quality, allows larger tables, and unlocks cosmetic items. Membership never affects gameplay, chip amounts, or the outcome of any hand. Membership is billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annual) until cancelled, and can be cancelled at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

6. Referrals

We may offer rewards (such as free months of membership) for inviting real people who go on to actually use the service. Creating fake accounts, using disposable emails, or otherwise gaming the referral system to claim rewards you haven't genuinely earned is a violation of these terms and may result in the reward being reversed and/or account suspension.

7. Acceptable use

When using Pokermates, you agree not to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice, depending on severity.

8. Reporting and moderation

If another player behaves inappropriately, you can report them from within a table. Table hosts can also remove a player from their own table at any time. We review reports and may take action including warnings, table restrictions, or account suspension.

9. No warranty

Pokermates is provided "as is." We're a small, actively developed product — features may change, and we don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We aren't liable for losses arising from service interruptions, bugs, or the actions of other users.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. If we make material changes, we'll make a reasonable effort to notify active users. Continuing to use Pokermates after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Cyprus and, where applicable, European Union law.

12. Contact
